Costumes of Halloween '13

This yearI made quite a lot of new costumes for my doll for Halloween and I thought I'd post some of them here :) They weren't all that successfull or serious, but thowse which weren't sure made me laugh :D

If anyone wants me to, I'll be glad to do some "How-To Costumes"-posts on some of them (If you want to know how for eg. Sallys dress was made), just let me know in a comment :)

1) Jason: I've had the mask for several years but for some reason I'd never thought of actully creating a Jason Costume.

2) Robot / Dalek girl: I KNOW DALEKS AREN'T ROBOTS! Don't worry.. I just wrote Robot,because not everyone knows what a Dalek is, so it can work as both ;) ... Dalek, because that dress just keep reminding me of the Daleks..

3) Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas: I had him planned some time before Halloween, I actully had planned, to do his face more Jack-Ish, by making some eyes in the Design-Studio, but I had no SD's, so I used my good ol' Skull-Mask instead :)

4) Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas: Well I had Jack,so I just had to do Sally too! Her dress was quite hard to figure out though :)

5) White which/sorceress: The red gloves, are supposed to make it look like she dipped her hands in blood.

6) Frankensteins Monsters Bride: - Not just Frankensteins Bride, since Frankenstein was the mad scientist, not the actual Monster. The Monster was named Adam (The first man, Scientist = god). I came by the dress and wig in this last year and I've been dying to get to use them! :D I'm working on a make-up tutorial for it, because I actully think it turned out quite well..

7) Dark Mermaid: That skirt took me about 3 hours to make.. It's make entirely from clothes and decor..

8) Scary Doll: Which has actually managed to scare one of my best friends ;D It's gonna eat you!

I hope you enjoyed my little costume-rant.. I can't tell you how much I love costumes and dressing up.. So I won't :D

How-To Costume: Alice inWonderland (Disney version)

A very simple How-To Costume

(And I appologise for the boring look, I don't have internetaccess on my own computer, which has all the cool edit-programmes x.x WHICH is also why I haven't posted much)

Aanyway.. Whilst I was walking around chats today, creeping people out by being dressed as Jack Skellington (Check my user to see my Jack Skellington Costume) I met a very nice girl :)

She actully regocnised, that I was dressed as Jack Skellington, so I was very honoured ;) She herself was dressed as Alice, but she said she didn't think it was good enough (Though I think it was very nice ^^)

So inspiered by her, I decided to do a quick How-To Costume featuring Alice.. Since I didn't feel (for the first time) that I had the needed items in my own closet, andI wanted to make it easy to get for everyone, I decided to do it in the Bazar :)

I btw did it with a minor difference from Disneys Alice, adding the white shirt underneath her blue dress. Cause in another version she's wearing it and I think it looks a tad better ;D

And since I did it in the Bazar, I won't put up alternatives for the items, but simply say that, if you example you don't like the skirt I chose, there's 3-4 other skirts, I simply chose the one I thought would be best :)

Only one thing I'd change if I could, I'd offcourse add a black headband. The Bazar has no black headbands, but one can be made in the Jewlerydesign for 3-4 SD's.

First Halloween Scenery of the Year

The Phantom of the Opera (On Stardoll)

A few years back, I think it was in 2010? Stardoll made a the Phantom of the Opera campaign during October, culminating at Halloween AND I LOVED IT.

I'm a big TPOTO fan, so I went all the way. Decorating my suite as the opera, making sceneries, a my album was a TPOTO lookbook.
My entire user was inspiered by TPOTO.

And since it's Halloween again, I thought I'd post some of the things I did back then, to give off some inspiration :)
And offcourse the Phantom was female ;)

I did a bit of calculating..

There are 4942 FASHION-items in the Plaza.

1458 of them are SC-items.

1458 / 4942 * 100 = 29,50%

So this means, that 29,5% of the FASHION-items are SC-items.

It’s quite a lot actually, considering SC's the secondary currency of Stardoll..

… Though the quality of the items definitely can be discussed!

…

 I personally only think, that about 50% of the SC-items are worth using

– Which means there’s about 729 “nice” SC-FASHION-items.

I was sort of hoping to make this a blog of the readers, meaning the readers would get to suggest and give ideas :)

But anyway.. Somehow I made it to the semi-finals in MSW and thanks to whom ever voted for me :) I doubt I'll make it to the finals, because some of the girls play it really rough - They cheat, let's just say it out loud, they cheat.. But still, big thanks to ya'll anyway :)

I've decided to make some simple Starcoin Bikini/Swimsuit outfits this summer (I'll release more some other days). Most will be made with items, not originally released as beach-wear :D

Re-decorating..

Firstly, remember to enter the competition! It's an easy one this time! ;D

Re-decorating is always a challenge for me, because I prefer rooms with a lot of details but I'm not very good at making them. I usually (As seen in my bottom left room) add items over time to make them exactely as I want them. 

Saturday I decided, that I didn't like my costume room anymore and I started re-decorating. But now, I'm not quite sure if I like the outcome. It might be a tad just too colourfull and confusing (but as a non with limited options for wall-colouring, it was the cheapest way)

My problem is, that I want all my costumes in one room (because I only have 1 room to spare) and all my suite-wigs too.. Here's a picture of before and after..

I'll probably re-decorate again tommorrow (If not today)

Anyone has an oppinion? Think I should re-decorate? Keep my room as it is? Or go back to before?

Superhero Competition!

Competition Time!

"What, a competition already again?"

Yes :D Because I loved viewing the entries from the last competition so much :D

It's a dress-up competition again (Because dressing up is what Stardoll is all about!)

To enter you have to dress your doll as a Superhero.

You have to make up your own character (So don't dress up like Hulk, Iron Man, Cat Woman etc.) 

You also have to tell a little bit about your character; Her/His name, Powers and the offcourse the Story! 

Use your imagination and just HAVE FUN! :D

You can either make it in your suite or in the Starplaza (stores) if you want to :)

Here are two suggestions of how it could be done.

I will be judgeing by how creative the Hero AND information about the hero is!

The winner will get: 

1) A free drawing of their doll as a Superhero.

2) A feature in my blog.

3) Their name in my presentation.

4) If they want to, they can do a "guest post" (it can be about anything) on my blog.

2nd place and 3rd place will get:

1) A free drawing of their doll as a Superhero.
